We should prob catch up:

Time for school! There was a short turnaround between getting back from Thailand and the official start of my school semester on Monday. For all of those confused, I was taking a class my first month in Sydney but it was technically a “summer” class. But, now, we are officially in the fall semester! I am taking 3 courses for all of those academically inclined: Contemporary Art History, Indigenous Australia, and Economic Perspectives.

So far, so good. I’ve only participated once but I will keep you all posted! We only just finished week 3, so I have some time for improvement. The classes are decently interesting, and I am an excellent schedule design-er, so I am very efficient with my trips to campus.

What a relief it was to be back in Sydney! As we all know, I absolutely adored my time in SE Asia, but Sydney is home and it’s been good to settle back in. I have since celebrated with a couple days at the beach, and a couple more nights out on the town.

Our new favorite night activity: Tuesday Trivia. We have found a place that makes us feel like locals, and nobody knows that we are the secret American imposters… just kidding we’re incredibly obvious. Anywho, first trivia night back we missed second place BY ONE POINT. Devastating. But that’s no reason to get down, so we scurried home in the new shopping cart we found!

Honestly, it’s hard to remember what I have been up to, but I am trying my best to do a recap. Please forgive me if I forget something, but here goes some rapid fire events:

Gusty’s parents hosted a Colby get together! Thank you to the Taylors! I got to see my boy Nils 🤝 and we played some fun games! Then, it was off to the Coogee Pav, and then some other bar, and then McDonalds… the usual.

There was a UNSW exchange student bar crawl. I got into a fight. End of story.

Now, it is time for the biggest development in my life in Sydney: I BOUGHT A BIKE!! And this isn’t any old bike, it’s ELECTRIC! I got it off FB Marketplace, and sure, there may be younger and more flashy bikes on the market, but I love her. She has pink details! And I bought a pink bike lock! I cannot express how much this bike has changed my life in Sydney for the better. It is my main mode of transportation now and I am absolutely obsessed.

Next, Sara found a big leaf! Go Sara!

Oh, also, at some point I went to this really cool street party during the day. We got a lovely day buzz going while walking around and watching all the Australians who seem to have never experienced stress in their lives. Good for them!

Then, this past weekend, I went on a trip to the blue mountains! Unfortunately, it came at the expense of Mardi Gras celebrations, but it was fun! It was planned and run by IFSA which meant it was pretty weird, but free, so that’s lit. We did some hiking, some aboriginal workshops, and watched sweaty boys play kickball. Oh, and I met Walter the Wombat and took a picture with a koala (Sage)! Also, I went on the steepest train in the world; I am embarrassed to admit how thrilling I found it.

Then, we had some visitors in Sydney: hello to Mr. & Mrs. Kendall as well as Benja’s wonderful gf, Emma!

Now, I am in a fun new location! Which also includes some special guests! More on that to come. I apologize for my inactivity, and how chaotic this entry was, but beggars can’t be choosers. And gosh, you guys sure have been begging! Talk to you all soon.

Fun Fact: Koalas are super sassy, especially when it comes to their only food source: eucalyptus leaves.
