This was an ULTRA fun weekend
I told you I had three big adventures left, and now we’re down to two.
This past Thursday I hopped on a plane to Melbourne for Ultra! Yes, the same Ultra that Alex Earle was just at in Miami😏. This was my first time seeing Melbourne and my first true music festival.
Thursday night after our arrival it was time to take on the town. We did some bar/club hopping but it did not last more than a few hours. I genuinely could not keep my jaw off the floor looking around at the characters in that room. It was quite unsettling. I saw people dressed as nuns, minecraft characters, and just good old ugly outfits. Honestly, it was pretty unbelievable. I started to get wildly uncomfortable as these figures flocked around me and were asking questions that felt a little too intimate, so that is where my night had to come to an end. We quite literally RAN to our uber. Also, I promise I’m not trying to be mean, like I had to text my dad that I felt unsafe it was WEIRD.
After that, we spent our first night in our Airbnb which we enjoyed, but I just found a pretty disappointing review they left about us. Confusing since we were awesome, but whatever. Friday we spent some time walking and shopping around the “rich people” area, so obviously we didn’t buy anything, but it was fun.
That night, we decided to lay low as it was game day tomorrow. So, we ordered some food, watched a movie, and went to bed early. ULTRA EVE BABY!
That means, the next morning, it was the big day. We woke up for an early breakfast (I did not realize this would be my only meal of the day), and got going. We played some music and just had a fun time getting pretty and dancing around. Then, we made our way to the Airbnb where my Vanderbilt queens were staying, and had ourselves some drinks before heading into the festival.
It was sooooo fun. I genuinely jumped around for the next 10 hours just vibing to the lights and the music. We were in the front the entire time and seriously just lived it up. We made some friends in the crowd, and some enemies, but that’s just part of the grind.
Before we knew it, the festival was over. Because of the THOUSANDS of people leaving the crowd at once, Ubers were crazy which meant we were lucky enough to have a solid hour walk home!! Yay!! Finally, we made it and not without the most tired legs I’ve ever experienced. Showered. And BED.
Sunday, we moved slowly before heading to the airport and making our way back to Sydney. This was seriously such a fun weekend and I am so thankful we were able to make it work. The times were too fun for proper photos, so this is what we’ve got:
